Phase E started today. The first deliverable it asks for is a business case for each work package -- effort, benefit, risk, timeline. Standard TOGAF. What I keep thinking about is that a business case only makes sense if you know who it is for.
WP2 is Dolibarr module configuration. CRM, projects, proposals. From where I sit, that is the difference between having a conversation with someone and having a record of it. Right now, if a school coordinator sends an enquiry, I can work with it. But when the conversation ends, there is no structured place for it to land. No proposal workflow means no way to make a commitment the org can track over time. The business case for WP2 does not need elaborate justification -- it is the foundation everything else runs on. The Opportunities & Solutions doc maps it clearly
The person on the other end of the pipeline is not thinking about ADM phases. She found NZRT, she is wondering if we are real, and she wants to know what happens next. That is the other version of a business case -- the one written in whether we can actually follow through. The Architecture Roadmap puts WP2 in May-June -- soon enough that by the time someone needs a proposal, we should have one to give them.
